Who am I?

My name is Koen Van Gansen, and I participate in Duchenne Heroes as part of Team "Go for Lander" for logistical support. Through my amazing colleagues, I learned more about Duchenne muscular dystrophy and felt honored to contribute by providing logistical assistance to our 'Go for Lander Heroes.' Being part of this team, I hope that research into Duchenne disease will soon lead to the discovery of a therapy.

What motivates you?

During the Duchenne Heroes event, you come into close contact with families affected by Duchenne. What touches me the most is their incredible drive to keep going with positivity and hope that a therapy will be found. That is also my drive, my hope, and my goal—to continue contributing to this cause.

The most beautiful moment of Duchenne Heroes is seeing the smiles on the children's faces at the checkpoints and at the finish line. It is incredibly fulfilling to be part of this and to contribute, even in a small way.
